I’m between the sky 5900 and talus 6900. From what I’ve seen the sky 5900 is by far the most popular pack, especially due to the beaver tail opening. The downsides I see are no exterior side zip pockets, only the front. I’m also concerned how a bow would strap onto the pack if that front pocket is full? On the other hand the 6900 has the full front zip with two side zip pockets, why it’s not more popular makes me wonder.. Thoughts on pros/cons of these packs?

I use the 5900, my son in law the 6900. Comes down to whether you are going to do some serious 7 plus day backcountry trips. Both scrunch down to nothing for day hunts.

Personally, I could care less about extra pockets. I like simple, which is one of the reasons SG appealed to me. All comes down to the amount of space you think you will require.

I hve the 5900 and the 6400, One of the beautiful things with the SG products is that they can compress down to next to nothing, I used the 5900 all last year, and the 6400 all this year and I cant find many situations where I wouldnt use the 6400, especially as a bowhunter only. it has the perfect face to mount your bow while still being able to access the bag.

One things i will say regardless of which bag you get, order auto locking buckles for the front load straps that hold your bow they tend to want to come lose a little bit over long hikes, with a bow on it.

Overall though I have been extremely happy with my SG pack and it has by far aided me in more comfort then any other packs I have tried, which are alot of them.
