Honestly. I’d go with a bigger pack. Either the 6900 or 7900 from SG. Or the 7000 or 7800 from kuiu. 8 days is a lot of food. And Idaho in oct, we’ll you could run into anything wx wise. So you’ll have rain gear, puffy jacket/pants. Plus your camping gear and more likely a 15 deg (or lower) bag which is bigger in volume than say a 30-40 deg quilt (what I take for that temp range). Plus either a full tent or hot tent/stove setup (pack about the same size)
So that’s a bunch of Stuff. Add in optics and a tripod, plus rifle/bow, I think a 6000 is small. I had mine pretty full on a 5 day sept elk hunt (I prob over packed a little, but not much just some extra socks/underwear, lol). Not sure I could do 8 in oct with it. I have the kuiu 6000. Nice pack. (Might be putting it up for sale if you need one. Lol).
