Was just gonna pass on how great Kurt is at SG!

Was on elk hunt on Oct 1st and my Sky 7400 left shoulder strap broke. Only had about 40lbs on it at time. Stitching came loose from bag. I just put a knot in it and it worked fine for rest of trip. On way home called Kurt and he answered so I told him what happened and he immediately said send it back and he would check it out. He had me use his UPS number to pay for shipping as well.

He got bag and said somehow it was stitched wrong and he fixed it and asked me if I needed anything. I said I was gonna buy another bag a smaller one and he asked which one. I told him approach and he said he would put it in with this bag and ship it. When I asked how to pay for it he never sent text message back. He included bag and wouldn't take payment ! I never expected that.

This is what I call amazing customer service and will be buying more SG products in future and letting everyone know how great they are!!

Yup, Kurt is a great guy and I don't even own any of his stuff but have talked hunting with him a few times thru email. He is a very humble man and for his age that says a lot.

Big 338,
Thanks for the compliment and great to hear you got your pack back. Just to clear up the strap issue, somehow on that pack the bottom compression strap was connected to the shoulder straps, and the strap that should have been connected to the shoulder straps was connected down under the frame to the bag. The strap routing all takes place behind the belt so it would have been very difficult to notice this mis-assembly. However, the shoulder strap webbing has approximately 4 times the stitching due to the stress in comparison to the lower compression strap by design. When the shoulder strap was connected to the compression strap, it was pulling the wrong direction on the wrong strap, hence the stitching gave way. Just wanted to let you know it was not a failure in design, but certainly a failure on our part to catch the mis-assembly. Having confidence in the products you take into the field is of utmost concern, just didn’t want you or any other SG customers to worry about a shoulder strap failure. Feel free to contact me if there are any questions or if I can help with anything. Thanks again and best of luck on the rest of your season!

this is my first year using stone glacier (sky 5100) and it has performed very well so far. packed out a buck (100+ pounds in pack) for several miles back to camp out of a nasty canyon. thankfully the sky system made the pack out more manageable. the load shelf was pretty cool in action. pretty impressive for how light these things are.

Kirt and his packs are fantastic. A nice whitetail was one step away from helping ne get it dirty Sunday evening but he never took that last step into the shooting lane!

Kurt thank you again! and even though I didn't get a perfect pack to begin with Kurt went above and beyond to make it right. What's amazing is all I had to do was was tie the strap in a knot and it held a 54lb deboned elk quarter for almost 2 miles and never missed a beat. I am a customer for life that's for sure!!!

Anyone have the belt pulls on their SG? How good do they work? Equivalent to Kufaru's?

I have them and like them really well. I can't say equivalent to K's b/c they are add-ons, but functionally, yes, they are equivalent. Work very well for me.

Kurt has several different options available on the belt pulls. He has found that different sized waists have better success with one version of the other. Kurt and I tried 3-4 different variations before settling on the ones I have now. So yes they have then, they are add-ons, and Kurt will work with you to make sure they work for you. I'd like to see a more permanent install, but mine work fine now so I can't knock Kurt's system.

I probably talked to Kurt 5 times before pulling the trigger on my solo pack last year. He answered every question and re-answered a few too as I wanted to be sure I was getting what I wanted. Very impressed with him, his CS, and his packs! Top shelf all the way!
