Stone Glacier Packs

Thanks Glenn , looking at them they seem well thought out but nothing tells the tale like real world use. Not much elevation change in huston tx. Kind of like where I live , jacksonville fl. I have started to walk the bribges over the river for training :)

For elevation changes I use the football stadium bleachers.

Here is a back ham, front shoulder and a rack....have no idea on weight. Around 6 miles from camp. My initial thought still stands...packs are solid (at least for me).

Great pic indeed. Hoping to get the Gen 2 Stone Glacier pack with the larger lumbar support here next month to take for a spin.

Benny- nice bull...can't believe your pard did not want to pack the rack out :) congrats buddy.

Luke- keep us posted on the gen 2! I really want to know if that lumbar pad fixes the issue of it sliding off us skinny guys hips.

Benny,
Any reason you left the bones in? 6 miles on an elk I would've been cleaning off every scrap of weight possible.... especially if I expected to do it in two trips.

You're telling me....then I kept asking myself why it was on my back. Are you getting excited yet :)

Mike, front shoulders were boned out. I kept the bone in on the ham so it would stand up better. I hate have big bags of jello.

Benny,
Feeling kinda gay for asking this, but what the hell.
What are your dimensions? Height and weight? Do you think this pack would be OK for the tall guys?

Kurt is 6'4" and said it was in the middle of the adjustment range. I'm 6'4" myself so I was concerned myself. After talking with him I am ordering one.

Yup...you just came out :)

I'm 6'3", 185 with a 32" waist. I get better lift out of this pack than I do with a 6500. No problem with getting the wb tight enough. I think you'd be fine AC. It's only money and it's not like you have a big hunt your saving up for :)

How is the pack for noise?
i hear the KUIU is loud when it gets dirty or dusty. i am not sold on the one since it is just a bag. Not sure why, maybe just a little OCD on my part on how i pack.

Luke , please let us know as soon as you can your thoughts on the second generation. I am wanting to pull the trigger on a solo in early january but I'm waiting on the new belt / pad design.

I'm putting together my new computer desk (it's kicking my ass), but I'll get the text review up today..... photos tomorrow (they're at the office).

Aron,
If there are any specific questions you have on the design or function that may help with your review, feel free to contact me via email or phone. Luke will receive his pack for review mid January when the next production run is delivered. His pack will have the updated lumbar support option available for all packs, I would be happy to fill you in on that as well if you are interested. Thanks for taking the time to review the pack.
