Stone Glacier Helio Hoody Preview Thread

Never have had any stone glacier gear but that is likely to change. Given the opportunity to run this hoody during shed season and I like itYou never have enough hoodies.....right! Was thinking I would need a medium but glad I got a large at 5’7” 160 fits perfect....after a 6 hr play day in the snow in high 20s high exertion day wearing only the hoody first takes are wicks extremely well, using the zipper to dump quick heat and then as I slowed and cooled back on the zipper...gonna keep wearing many days before washing...excuse the hair did not have time to comb it

Don’t know if you have any experience with the Sitka fanatic hoody, but if you do how would they compare? Hoodies are my go too and like you said you can never have too many hoodies. Does it have a front pouch for your hands or pockets? Thanks

I have one Sitka hoody I will check but don’t recall which one only pocket is on the chest which is very large/deep..on the Helio

No, it comes in their "astronaut" grey and the tan Robbie.

my lightest base layers have hoods, all my mid-layers have hoods, all my outer jackets have hoods

be looking forward to your review, if they do clothing as well as they do packs- should be promising

due to the breath ability not much for wind blockage

I am 6ft, 190. Normal to broad shoulders. Got an xl- it was actually a liitle big and I was wishing i had gotten a large. Washed and dried it on high though and now its about perfect. I think you will be happy with an xl

I’m 6’2” 215 and got the xxl. My biggest problem is sleeve length. Not an issue on this mid layer. I like is so much that I’m going to buy the tan one too.

sorry for the dumb question, but is this a soft shell-type hoody as opposed to a fleece? It appears to be soft shell material with a fleece liner, just confirming. Thanks!

No question is a dumb question......the liner is fleece like and the exterior is shammy like but would not call it a soft shell, the composition is 94% polyester and 6% spandex on both the interior and exterior
