I couldn't agree more with the adjustable waist. I have beat the snot out of my pair and love them. I wear them in all kinds of weather from early season to negative temps. Personally I don't use the adjustable waist but I have discussed with another buddy who is tall and skinny (like Kurt), and really loves the waist adjustability.

The main differences are that the FL pants are waterproof in the butt and knees, are suspender ready, heavier fabric (28 oz vs 24), and have way more color options. The SG pants have an adjustable waist system (I have to wear longer boxers because it rubs on my skin otherwise), longer inseam (36.5 vs 35).

At my height (6’8”) I had to go with SG pants.

Both are a softshell type of fabric.
