When I was going to school in the 70s, I bought a 7 RM Husqvarna for $100. This was one of the Tradewinds imports of the 60s so it wasn't one of the high priced spreads. In a nutshell, it fits and is extremely accurate and consistant. I killed a lot of elk with it.

Last year I loaned it to my daughter to hunt with me. The ground was heavy downfall on a steep slope and she fell on the rifle. The resultant was a crack on the side of the stock in front of the bolt. I pulled the action off and torqued the stock to open the crack and filled it with epoxy with a toothpick. Once I was sure It was filled, I placed it between two points and placed the crack under compression and left it there for three days to cure. So far it appears to have done the job.

The question is should I need to replace this stock, what options do you suggest? The one it came with is light and has the fine fore end with an expanded end that really fits your hand.

I would think the repair as described will work very well, actually stronger than the stock was originally in the broken area. If mine I would not bother with a new stock since you seem to like the fit of the repaired one.
