We left it as is. Hasn’t affected anything. Gun shoots very well.

Thought I’d post a couple pics, as I’d read this half a dozen times, cause I can’t afford a new stock,
I copied the OP’s mods and welded in scrap chunks
After adding spartan precision bipod holder, I only ended up saving about 3.1 oz
I was going to paint it, sanded with 120 and decided, good enough, was hoping to save more weight, but I’ll live with it,
