Anybody have experience with this scope? Optics-Trade did a rifle scope shootout solely on low light performance and this did very well, according to them. It beat the Zeiss V6. I'd like to confirm this from another source if possible.
Also, I'm leaning towards the S3i reticle, but not sure how it looks in reality vs a drawing. The 4AI reticle looks much thinner looking through it on a video than it does compared to a drawing of it. I definitely don't want the S3i reticle to be thinner than what the drawing depicts--for hunting.
Steiner customer service doesn't want to reply to my e-mails, so here I am.

Yes. I returned it because from 12-18X the mag ring was extremely tight. The reticle and fov were great. Brightness about the same as my Swarovski Z3. Steiner USA would not provide any warranty service because it's only available overseas.

Thanks! I was wandering how the warranty would be impacted. You couldn't send it back to Europe for warranty work either?

It's disappointing that brightness is not noticeably better than the Z3. I'm in the market for a good low light scope that is under $1500 and I was considering the Steiner Ranger 4 & 6. Also have the Minox Allrounder, Leica Amplus 6, Meostar R2, and Swarovski Z5i on my short list. Just haven't decided yet.

I had the Z6 2.5-15X56 recently, but returned it due to incomplete internal blackening coating. I'm a bit fussy when spending a lot of money. I'd say about the same brightness as the Z3, but much better fov and slightly better detail and contrast. I don't know if there's anything noticeably brighter than the Z3 out there. Maybe the Polar T96? Maybe.
