Has anyone compared to a Vortex Razor LHT? Same price range, I know there is some Vortex hate lol. Is the Steiner significantly better?

I love the form factor of the 2-12 and the weight at 23oz, my NX8 weighs in at 30 with caps.I have the 2-12. It has become a fantastic scope so far. Only thing is the illumination knob is VERY easy to turn. Got turned on in a case and battery was dead. But, I never use illumination anyways. I’m surprised these scopes don’t get much love. I’ll def wind up picking up another one in the near future. I was engaging targets in the 600-700 yd range easily at a NRL hunter match. But, I can see where a 3-18 would work well for you. Don’t think you can go wrong with either.
I have the 2.5-20x50 Nx8 as well, and do like the MOAR reticle better no doubt. But that’s just personal preference. The Steiner is def usable. Maybe not as much as the Nx8, but still don’t believe it would hinder you too much. Eye box is better with the Steiner, and saves a few ounces. I love the slim, compactness of the Steiner over the Nx8.I love the form factor of the 2-12 and the weight at 23oz, my NX8 weighs in at 30 with caps.
How have you enjoyed the reticle at distance? It’s my only hang up…but so far everyone has said it’s usable!
It’ll be going on an 18” 6.5cm sawtooth with the intention of running the Federal Peal+ -I have the 2.5-20x50 Nx8 as well, and do like the MOAR reticle better no doubt. What kind of a rifle would it be going on? The 2-12 is almost perfect for a compact backpacking style rifle, in my opinion.

Main use will be Montana deer/elk out to 800.
