Steel targets for public land

Yes. Red hot lead and copper flying off every time you hit. Not unheard of at all to start a fire. If you hang the targets well so they angle down you will quickly see the hot shrapnel cleans a line in the ground. Make sure that area is free of tinder and you should be good. You can also hang the targets inside a tire like they do in Europe to catch a lot of that shrapnel.

This is news to me. I have never witnessed red hot metal on any projectile or fragments. I have never seen it dry or cook or coteries tissue which I would think would be possible. I have never experienced a fragment that I couldn't tolerate picking up bare handed.

Im assuming nobody is talking about tracers and steel.

I think target shooters catalytic converters and cigars or joints are a bigger hazard than bullets down range. Maybe not.

I just ordered a grounder 500 from TA targets. Way easier to setup & transport than the a-dap i have from them which has been great and used heavily for 5 years
