Should steadiness or force fetch training be completed first and why should one go before the other?
Here’s my situation:
With the bird season complete many of us are planning our off season training. In my case I’ve got a 13 month old GWP. She was a started dog when I picked her up a 8 months old. Since then she’s been on 25 wild chukar hunts and the last third of hunts she began holding points and birds so I was able to kill a few. She’s got basic obedience (here, sit, heal) ingrained so my off season plans include steadiness training and I also need to complete force fetch work. She’ll mark birds, find them, pick them up, drop them then continue to hunt. She does retrieve the Dokken chukar dummy, other dummies and likes to carry stuff.
