It is no secret the haul road is a gong show most of the time!! Basically every stalk anywhere near the road is blown by other hunters and human feces/wet wipes in every available spot to pull over.

True Alaskan experience right there!!

I need to look into become a known shipper, from what i can tell Alaska Air Cargo would probably be the cheapest way to get meat and antlers home.
This is a pretty straight forward process. There are rules you need to follow. A couple things to look for: 1) Fairbanks this year did not have pickup/dropoff on the weekend, only monday-friday. 2) We did aircargo for almost everything on the way back. Antlers (not-split) foam insulation on the points, in a clear poly bag, duffles (minus guns, ammo, batteries), meat (packed into 48 qt coolers in clear 2 gallon ziplocks), capes. Make sure you know the hours of where you are shipping and where the coolers/freezers are in the route. We had three guys going to 3 different states. I brought my stuff home via gold streak so it went direct basically on the next flight out of every leg. It beat me home by 4 hours. The other guys went "general" and because it was going to cut into the weekend, we had Alaska cargo send out the meat next flight out of fairbanks and then into a freezer in Seattle for 3 days until their respective airports were open for pickup.

We’re going 2025. Can’t wait! Does anyone know how the UHaul situation was in 2024? I heard mixed info prior to that.
