Is it better to go all in with the high end cameras, arms, mounts etc? Or should I start slow with tactacams, non go pro action cams, phone scope type mounts? From my experience in all things hunting, I’ve always gravitated towards buy once cry once because I end up selling and replacing all the equipment I cheaped out on.

Depends on your budget mostly.

You can get good video with just your phone and one camera. I would generally say just start at a budget that makes sense and then if you get to a point where your skill is beyond the limits of your equipment, think about upgrading.

I think dropping $12-15k on camera equipment is pretty stupid if you end up being so occupied with filming that you never tag any animals and therefore end up with no footage.

I think my rule would be to always tag first. I don’t ever want to jeopardize the game or a bad shot because I wanted it on camera. Hopefully that’s not a newbie mentality. Thanks for your comment
