Stabilizer length

Gonna depend on how much weight you want to put on it, but also consider that your arrow will be sticking out further than any hunting stabilizer until you draw back.

My whitetail bow has an 8 on the front and a 6 on the back, my open country bow is 15 front and 8 back.

The 8-12 inch range should do you good for a front bar.

This is good knowledge. My bow runs a 15 front, 10 back.

As a rule shorter stabilizers need more weight to accomplish the same effect as a longer stabilizer with less weight.

I like a 10" front (with weights & QD it's 12" overall from riser) & no back bar.
I think it's a good compromise for length & still agile plus it's a perfect size for me to use as a brace against my arm when carrying strings down
