Installing an SRS 20moa scope mount on a T3X. The mount comes with 4 bolts, but 5 holes for those bolts (to correspond with the 5 threaded holes in the receiver), though pics online show the rail having just 4 holes. Does anyone have input on which 4 holes to use, or does it not matter? Am I totally missing something and the 5th hole in the rail is for something different altogether?

I did send message to @Salmon River Solutions a couple days ago, but understand it may take a bit for a response and I'll be taking this rifle out tomorrow for some testing.

I believe the extra hole is for original T3’s.

That was my suspicion... it does seem like all 5 holes in the rail correlate to holes in the t3x receiver though. Unless I am confusing recoil pin holes with threaded holes. I did post this after a few whiskeys with the neighbors so I might be off.

Just checked, there are indeed 5 threaded holes in the t3x receiver. I guess you just pick 4 and run with it.

As Form said, we did just add the 5th so the rail works with a T3.

So, maybe a dumb question…but since there are 5 holes in the rail and 5 plastic plugs in the receiver but only 4 mounting screws, do you recommend removing the 5th plastic plug or leaving it in so there isn’t a hole that goes all the way through to the bolt?

Also, the recoil lugs are tight enough that they require tapping in with a hammer. If I ever want to take this rail off, will the recoil lugs come out? There’s obviously no way to punch them through from the other side.

You just keep the plastic piece and leave it in the hole you don't use.

And yes the locating pins are a snug fit, and you can use a viselocks to get them out.
