I switched from the stock Tikka radial muzzle brake on my 7mm Rem Mag to an SRS 3-port .860 brake.
Recoil is still noticeably punchy — more than I was expecting. After doing some research, I realized I received the .30 cal version of the SRS brake instead of the dedicated 7mm version they offer.
From what I can tell, the bullet clearance is roughly .026" greater with the .30 cal brake. Is that a meaningful difference in recoil reduction or not really?
I’m planning to move up to the 4-port version, but in Canada the only one currently available is again the .30 cal model. Should I wait for the 7mm version to come back in stock, or is the performance difference negligible?
Thanks.
