New guy here. Been reading a lot but never posted. Know a lot of the opinions here about some brands over others.
Have been looking for a 6.5 this summer. Had a weatherby 307 that missed the mark on expectations and sent it back. Recently been wooed by the Springfield Redline version of the waypoint with the 20” barrel in 6.5cm
Reviews mixed, but most of those older and more on the PRC versions.
Don’t really want the same experience I had with the last one again…have things gotten better with the waypoint actions end to pursue one?
My goal is a deer or steel gun that with scope (no bipod) comes in under 9#, 6.5cm, 20-22” barrel, threaded. Would like to be a good suppressor host…so no pencil barrel, prefer no adapter to get it to 5/8-24. Mostly a hunting rifle but want the ability to go shoot a casual NRL type match that a local range occasionally hosts.
Redline more or less at or slightly above what I was hoping to spend at the $1500 mark, but offers several features I’d liked. Other option was a tikka and trick it some after it proved itself, but hadn’t found a 20” or 22” cm version in SS. Seekins PH2 on the Scheels close outs has been a consideration but only find a 24” version.
