Spring rides

Spent some time doing a little spot and stalk bear hunting. Unfortunately, the bear we saw was not the one we were hunting for. Dang grizzlies are thick as thieves out there!! Actually very pleased at how well my 4yo mare did. She was hyper focused, but never flinched.

Did a few test rides getting my new 4yo mare used to the pack saddle, britchen...

Nice, finally got out to cut some trail last week. It was gorgeous.

You are right where I have wanted to be but I have bern snowed in for two weeks.

No rides out for me yet. Gonna go next week and help a friend with his pack clinic. I think I’m gonna take our mare that lost her foal this year. She hasn’t been ridden in a year and could use some trail time to clear her head.

Pony Soldier, that's a bummer. The second picture was at the North end of the Bob below Spotted Bear. I'm looking forward to the snow leaving the higher country so I can pack in without worrying about snow in the passes. Just got another 8" in the high country the other night.
