Anyone going for spring bear this year? I'm a couple years out from going again. The air changing has me wishing i was going!!

I am fortunate to live where I can go bear hunting after work, weekends, or multi-day backpacking trips. Bear season opens April 15th and the suspense is building as spring warm-up came early this year. Let’s Go!

Yesterday. Montana. 6.5 PRC with 147 ELD-M. Shot was 120 yards seated with elbows on my knees and took out the heart (lower left of picture), lungs and had some lacerations in the liver. Bear ran around 10 yards and piled up. Taped nose to tail at 5'10".

My positional shooting has improved significantly since I started shooting a Rokstok.

Depending on how far north in Alberta you’re going there’s still decent amount of snow in the woods in the northern half currently. Cold and snowing this weekend too
I don't have an exact location, but it is about three hours west and one hour north out of Edmonton. It looks like it is warming up some going into next week. I booked this a year ago, so not much opportunity to change plans at this point!

Gotcha, I was 3 hours North East. I was just giving you the heads up to pack appropriately. Are you stalking or bait hunting? It will probably be super soupy up there with the melt. Pack some waders 😂.
