Trying to figure out the main differences between these 2 sights. I will be going with the double pin sight. I am a guy who likes his sight housing sitting closer to my peep as opposed to extending out further from peep. Is this the difference of the XL, the ability to move sight closer or further to peep? If not, what else am I missing? I have shot the Option Sight for years and am considering switching up.

The XL has the bar allowing you to adjust the sight in relation to the riser ie farther out or closer . It allows you to align your peep a little better without changing peep size . I have the XL double pin as well and really like it .

The xl will allow you to get a little closer to the riser and also extend. I like simplicity of standard mounts. One less screw to have back out from vibration.

As the other have said, XL for adjustability, available longer sight radius for better accuracy. I have the XL and love it, but feel all Spot Hogg sights are really worth their asking price, just can’t beat them.

The XL allows you to fine tune the distance your sight sets from your riser more than the standard. If torque tuning this can be useful, as well if you are trying to match to a peep. But I would torque tune then fit my peep to my housing.

I like that I can remove the sight during travel with the dovetail sights (the XL). I feel like it's less likely to get moved if it's off the bow.
