Spot Global Phone?

I know some of you own satellite phones and some of you rent them. I have been doing some research on the Spot Global Phone and it looks like it works well inside the US. Does anybody have any real experience with this phone? Would this work in the Wyoming High country? Is there a difference in performance besides the texting feature that I would be missing with an iridium phone?

Hey buddy, do a quick search for sat phones. There's been some recent talks regarding the new spots and the globalstar phones. Just used a globalstar this past weekend up here in alaska and it worked great! Was surprised how quick I located sats and the call quality was really good. It appears the Spot/Globalstar phones are the same and use the same sats so I'll be asking for one for Christmas this year!
