He's a fudd hero for sure and seems to have a bias against "the hornady formula" but most of his takes and preferences on ballistics outside of terminal performance have seemed pretty on point to me. He seems to value traditional flat shooting/MPBR metrics over efficiency and the benefits of higher BCs which doesn't make him wrong just different from folks who put a higher value on higher BC and lower recoil for shooting beyond MPBR.

He has admitted to shooting a few long(ish) shots. I think his comments about long range hunting are aimed at people who are making long range shots who really shouldn't.

Gotta love the internet. Most on here would criticize their grandmother for little else to do. Ron is dumbing things down, sure, he is also making a living. Most gun stuff is directed toward the shooter that kill's his critter under 400 yards young or old fudd or not.

Talking about all the long distance shooting, fancy rounds and great stocks or chassis your rifle is mounted in is great but when it comes down to the point a couple hundred feet per second it does not count all that much. Ron points that out frequently.

Age has nothing to do about the issue except that time puts more critters on the wall. LOL

Guess it’s all in what you want out of life. I enjoy my profession in general and I don’t have to look at a camera and smile and say 4 good things about the brand new plastic 700 that can’t feed 308 out of the box
