Hmm, that's interesting I'm curious myself. Is it located in an area close to homes or businesses or is this in the backcountry?

the back of beyond...nothing around at all...

What did it taste like? Would it be good on a cracker?

Chukar country...that's odd. If it was in the trees I'd guess something like a fischer or pine martin or something. No clue and hope a poop expert logs on. Very curious.

Are there sage-grouse in the area?

ClearCreek

ive never seen any, nor anyone I hunt with. Not typical sage grouse territory. Steep and rocky. These things look so much like thrown grease that one guy swore It was from a truck. Very strange stuff.

I should have taken more pics. It was like a flock of something passed though poopin’ all the way. Was in just a small isolated area.

Sage grouse will have greasy poops like that in winter so good call by clear creek.
If not sage grouse some other gallinaceous bird most likely.
