Speaking of movies…

Dunno if it's been mentioned, but Denzel is fabulous in both Training Day and Man on Fire.....both are freaking awesome.

Training Day got him a well-deserved Oscar.
Man on Fire; you won’t want to take your kids to Mexico ever after watching that one.

Interstellar. Some people might think that it is overdone, but it just brings up some interesting topics outside of the Sci-Fi portion.

Inception is always a good one if you haven't seen it.
This came to mind for me too. Great movie!

Not a movie, but a book you can read or listen to on Audible.

"One Second After" This will blow your mind and get your prepper juices flowing. It is fiction but based on real dangers and certain consequences that the US is 100% vulnerable to. The forward was written by Newt Gingrich and this book will scare the hell out of you and make you think about what would happen if all the sudden the lights went out and didn't come back on... No cell phones, no internet, no planes, no communication for an extended period. The rapid devolving of modern technological society.

That's a good one. It could easily be a TV series.

I don't know if this will challenge preconceived notions, but "An American Rhapsody" is one that makes you think about things. It is a low budget film, but it's a story about the director's own childhood. You can sort of feel everyone's pain in it.... her, her parents, and her adoptive parents
