I've had the new Spartan Valhalla Gen 2 bipod for a couple of weeks and have used it a couple of times so far.

They are priced at $475 with a Picatinny or Mloc adaptor. Price is $450 without the adaptor.

Here is a video they put together that explains some of what's new/different and how it works.

It weighs 13.5 oz on my scale.

The lowest height is about 5"

My initial thoughts after some use.

It looks and feels like a high-quality bipod. The width/leg-angle provides very solid support for the rifle. I don't think it's tall enough to be very useful for my hunting style, and it's definitely not as tall as I like for NRL Hunter competitions. It works great for the shooting bench and would be great for setting up above the animals with a dedicated long-range rifle from a location without tall grass or brush.

You can order longer legs, but they are only 12" and cost $150 for a pair. The Pro Legs are 19.5"-42" and are twist-lock, and cost $300 for a pair. I don't have either of these options to test out. If the Pro legs twist like the Spartan tripod legs (requiring two hands to tighten), I wouldn't like them anyway.

If you watch the video above, you will see that the legs deploy very quickly when stowed, pointing toward you. It's more of a pain if you stow them pointed toward the barrel like normal. I would prefer it if you could simply pull them down regardless of how they are stowed.

Let me know what else you would like to know.
