Just bought a Browning X bolt HC speed and went to put the Spartan classic rifle adapter on it to use with my bipod, but none of the screws seem to work. The screw that is the correct threads is too long. I can’t get the adapter secure before it stops wanting to be turned. Anyone have any experience with this setup? Do I need to order a shorter screw? Power through the resistance and just keep turning?

Thanks in advance.

Cut the screw shorter, do you have a hacksaw?

I don’t. Always worried about screwing threads up but I guess with the gnarly wood screw threads that’s not really a concern. I’ll cut em at work tomorrow!

I drilled and tapped the adapter for a set screw about where the bullseye is. Then kissed the stock with a drill bit where the set screw hits the stock. This eliminated the twisting of the adapter.

There should be no issue cutting the attachment screw.
