Is anybody using a service to scrub your info from call lists and such? I run a business and I literally can’t answer my phone because of the majority of calls I get are spam. Same with texts.

The new iPhone update has a feature if a caller is not in your contact list they have to say their name before it will ring through. Enabling that has cut out a ton of spam calls for me.

Any one I care to talk to has a ID I set up. If I don't recognize the caller, I don't answer. If they want to leave a message, which they never do, and it's something of importance I might call them back, might being the key word.

I have very few phone spams. I don't give my # to anybody except friends and family. I block every spam call and txt. I give the same fake # (an old land line # that is long disconnected) to web sites that demand a #. I give my email for 2nd level authentication, but any business that requires phone or text for that, I just don't do business with them. It is ridiculous how many businesses, utilities and service providers are spammers or sell phone numbers to spammers.

I fairly recently got a new Cell phone (not an I phone). I had the same issue with my old phone, just not as bad as you (the OP). My new phone came with a call screener and it works for over 95% of junk calls, I am very pleased with the call screener. You may need to upgrade your phone.

I've started getting voicemails from spam calls....

I just got a brand new phone two days ago. iPhone 17. Definitely no change in the spam calls. I also get a lot of spam voicemails. Some numbers are obviously spam, but I also get a lot of local numbers that are Robo calls.

None so far.
Lucky you. I can generally spot the spam voicemails because they are between 45 and 50 seconds in length. With my job I get lots of calls from people and businesses I dont have in my phone book. So I still have to check every one.

You're getting all the spam because your name and number have been sold by an online retailer you've shopped with. It takes about 45 minutes of your life to go to the 2 or 3 services that handle that info and email them to request your information be removed

When i found out that my information was being sold, I started putting alternate phone numbers(landlines and numbers not my cell phone) for any online purchases.

I've had my information sold in less than 48 hours. I purchased some actual linen bed sheets and the next day I got spam text from a local spa.

Someone recommended blocking every single spam call I got and over a few weeks the calls definitely went down in number.
^^ This. I wasn't getting as many as some people but there was a stretch of a few months where I was getting 6 a day and they were leaving the same voicemail over and over. A couple of weeks of blocking every number and I haven't had a consistent spam call in months.
With having to advertise your number though this might be a constant battle

Problem is I have to advertise with my number attached. I don’t answer my phone and just let it go to VM and customers leave a message but I hate being the guy that never answers his phone.
Same here. I use a VOIP instead of my real number that makes people say their name before I answer. But I would feel weird if I called someone and had to do that, but the alternative is answering 10 spammers a day
