Any of y’all using this cold weather to test out your gear?

It’s currently 14 degrees at my house in the DFW area. Have the stove going in my hot tent and testing out my new quilt and sleeping pad while drinking whiskey and coke and Netflixing. Not a bad Sunday night.

That’s a great idea and I didn’t even think about it. I do not have a pad/bag setup rated for anything close to these temps but if I did I’d be testing it right now.

Getting ready too. Heading Alabama Wednesday AM for a couple weeks of the whitetail rut. Looks colder for first few days. Colder than SWFL for sure. My cousin from Ohio will be down. He will think its warm.

Just walked the dog trying a different puffy under insulated coveralls. Only my sheepskin mittens are effective for hands but dexterity is zero

To answer OP's question, hell no. It's -22 right now, which is better than 2 nights ago at -33. We're looking forward to double digit highs above zero by Saturday, through.
