I was thinking about going to see, then my friend called last night after seeing it, he said he came out depressed.
I don't believe this movie was made to simply be "enjoyed". You don't turn your brain off and watch explosions or fake superheroes. It is far easier to not watch and remain naïve to a serious global problem.

You would have to be living under a rock to not be aware of how serious problem a child trafficking is. I will go see it, not to be entertained, or informed, but to see how their messages is delivered. I would hope it will help in some way, But......

My wife and I plan to go see this... her brother deals with sex offenders in Nevada and its quite shicking what these pervs are into and willing to do... trust me, he has a tough time with what he encounters daily. The exploitation of children is an absolute crime against humanity and every one of them needsbto be castrated and debrained!!

Until our state ran propaganda media sources start reporting the problem nothing will be done.

I would take it a step further and say until the laws that are on the books are enforced and until the sanctions are severe enough to discourage predators then this will continue. I have seen numerous times where an offender received a lighter sentence due to pleading to lessor charges with acceptance from the DA or the sentencing was on the low end of the scale, just to have that person reoffend when they are released. I challenge everyone who reads this to research their DA & Local Courts record on convictions / sentencing of these crimes. Some of the cupcake soft approaches to these crimes would shock you. Those need to be spoken out against and the voters need to do their part in getting those officials voted out.

I also encourage everyone on here to reach out to their local LE Agencies and press them to grow their CASA Units and make this issue a priority. IMO this is a much more worthy cause and focus of resources than Narcotics and other Metro type crimes. Those crimes usually draw lighter sentencing and the community impact is not the same. Finding and arresting those who are victimizing our children needs to be priority #1 IMO. Luckily those in charge of most agencies are either appointed by an elected body or are elected themselves. The communities need to step up and make those Officials take this seriously. If they dont, then the communities need to expose them and vote them out as well. There are things that everyone can do, I hope more take this on and make themselves heard. Our children deserve our advocacy.

The film was finished in 2018, but none of the studios, Amazon, netflix, or anyone else would touch it. They were more worried about the bottom $$$$ than the message that the film would put out.

My wife got so upset while we were watching it that she had to go and puke in the theater bathroom.

It wasn't graphic... it was just that reality set in for her when the dad returned to the empty room and all the kids were missing.

The band Soul Asylum had a video to the song "Runaway Train" that dealt with exploited and missing kids/people. This was in the early '90s it was devastating to me then as a young adult.

I have not yet watched it. A big part of me doesn't want to see it, as reading through this thread brought up some serious emotions, and several past cases. I work with kids, fortunately, and unfortunately, I deal with such issues. The last one was a 5th grade girl being sexually used by her grandfather. I had a group of girls (cutters) come to me and tell me what the victim told them. I somehow manage to handle my part in a professional manner, until my part is done. But once I was done with my part on the above case, I was literally useless for 2 days.

I gathered that the girls mom was aware, but was also a victum and both were financially dependent on grandfather. And yes, the perpetrator/ grandfather is serving time.

I'll eventually get around to watching the movie, but the timing needs to be right for me. But to be brief, yes, people need to see this.

Conservatives are all unified and going crazy over Bud light. Who gives AF. This is what they want. Everyone distracted with nonsense while the important issues are forgotten. The only way this will stop is if people get loud and angry about it. Organized protests and political campaigns. Just like BLM but without the looting and arson.

The wife and I saw this movie Thursday night, everyone should see it. I enjoyed the movie from the perspective of the education and information it provided, similar to a documentary, and the light it shined on the issue. I think James Caviezel is a great actor, but also a man of principal, which is rare for Hollywood.

I'm completely blown away by all of the negative press. They are calling the entire issue Qanon conspiracy theory. I guess child trafficking really doesn't exist after all. What a relief.

Just saw this yesterday. Good movie. Very informative. Sad. As said above, its not a movie that is to be "enjoyed". Think of its as more of a documentary.

Not to make light of a concerning matter, but it's funny that Disney is up in arms. They owned the rights and would not release it. Angel Studios acquired it and was rejected by Amazon and Netflix. They went out on their own and got it onto 2,600 +/- screens and it has outperformed the new Indiana Jones movie that Disney spent over $300 milion on that is on over 4,000 screens.

Goes to show you where the real pulse of this nation is...
