I lost my battery and charger so I have to buy a new one. Before I do that any suggestions on how to handle battery needs in the backcountry? I'll be out for a week so, I'm not sure how to do this.

I also use the A6000 and with the shortish I carry two additional batteries. Three batteries suits my needs. From past posts, I know that lots of guys use solar chargers such as a Goalzero. Some guys also use a battery charging pack such as a 14,000 MaH New Trent charger. Depending on the model, this could charge the a6000 battery approximately 14 times. There may even be larger capacity models. Hope this helps.

I have a 10,000 mah charger that does the usual 5v 2.1amp. I just didn't know if this would work

Partially an off topic question...what or how are you protecting the camera from the elements? Not sure if you're hunting or just photographing, either way i think it would be the same.

I bought a cheap neoprene case for my A6000 off of Amazon called the "MegaGear Ultralight Neoprene Case" for about $12. The case is not heavy duty, but it's light and protects the camera from dings and weather. I carry the camera in the top lid for quickish access and to avoid crushing.

I wish I posted this before I bought my e-m5. I didn't get the a6000 specifically because it wasn't weather sealed, I might have rethought that decision.

I know this thread is getting old but I just picked up an a6000 and was wondering if you guys have used it for digi scoping? I have a vortex spotter and was thinking about buying the adapter, not sure if it would be worth it though

Stone,

I have the Vortex kit along with a Razor 85. It works great for scoping with the A6000. There may be better options, but I don't know of any. The Vortex kit doesn't have an adapter that matches the threads of the kit lens that the camera comes with. To solve this, you will need a step up thread ring. The kit lens has 40.5mm threads. The closest vortex attachment has 43mm threads. If you go this route buy a 40.5-43mm step up ring and you'll be set. The step up ring just stay screwed onto the vortex plate.

The image below just shows the adapter that stays attached to the spotter. I keep this in place always. It doesn't interfere with scope operation.

This image shows the step up ring attached to the vortex plate.

Hey there guys, great set ups. I'm thinking of getting a spotter and the vortex razor is one of the 2 that I'm keen on. I have been searching the net for as much info as possible but struggle to find images of certain setups. Any chance you could post a couple of pics would be greatly appreciated .
Cheers

Just another quick question, what lens are you using? The standard one that comes with it or different? I noticed that vortex seem to say a fixed 50mm f1.8 lens. How did you go with focusing as ive read that some people have had some trouble with the standard lens? Any info would be great
Cheers
