Hey guys,
Pretty new to this section of the forum, but been lurking for awhile and have seen some awesome shots. I've also noticed a lot of advice of cameras for newbies and it seems that the sony a6000 has been pretty heavily recommended. I currently have a sony dslr a55 model and was wondering if it would work for wildlife photos and landscapes with the right lens or if I should sell it and get a a6000. Still pretty new at photography so any advice is helpful, thanks in advance!

What you have is fine!!!. Yours has a translucent mirror so video and AF is virtually the same as a mirrorless. All you need is the right lens and as a member here we will do the best we can,
Feel free to call me to discuss what you have and we can figure out what you need, if anything

That camera is good to go for wildlife photography.

I started with an a57. I’m still a Sony guy. Cheap Minolta af glass is available and works with Sony a mount. Lots of good lenses to get started with.

Minolta af 50mm f1.7 was one of my favorites and they are quite affordable.
