Not sure why I didn't post in September here but here is the short version of the story. Went 100% solo this year and packed 4.5 miles in and spent a silent opening weekend glassing and stalking a few bulls. The next weekend was a lot more vocal and after screwing up a legit 360+ bull, while I was kicking myself, this bull bugled from nearly a mile away. I let out one cow call and he made a bee line to me. Literally he walked straight to me and stopped at 8 yards facing me. After a stare down, I finally laced him at 25 yards after stopping him with a cow call. The pack out was absolutely brutal. 6.5 miles X 3 with camp. My 52 year old butt will never do that solo again!!
He fooled me a little since he didn't grow a G2 on his left side but the 20" G1s made up for it. If he'd have matched he was a little over 350... 334 as he sits...
