Looking to upgrade my rangefinder setup as I am getting into the long range hunting side of things. But also would like it to be able to be used during archery season as well. Just looking for other peoples input on what they run

I'm really happy with my Sig Kilo 3000BDX if you're looking for a bino/RF combo. A lot of folks say the range finders in Sigs are superior to others, while the optics lag behind.

I hunt with my buddy that uses Swarovski EL Range in the same power. From a tripod, his binos are noticeable optically superior, but not 3X as good. I'll take my rangefinder over the Swaro.

I hear the new kilo 10k BDX are optically better than the 3k, so with better RF and environmental sensors (pressure, temp and wind meter) you'll need for LR rifle, I'd say that's my pick for a do it all RF/bino.

For reference, I was glassing aoudad from 1 mile out with my "crappy" Sig 3k's from a tripod. Good enough for me.

The Leica models are very good without spending a ton of money. I would get one of the ballistics models that will sync with a Kestrel if you're serious about long range hunting.

Are you looking at a stand alone rangefinder or possibly a rf/bino? That will help break it down a lot.

If you are looking for a stand alone look at the sig 2400 a.b.

If you are thinking rf/bino to do all and reduce pcs of gear on you. Look at zeiss rf, Leica 3200 pro 8 or 10x, yes sig has a great rf, but the glass was lacking.

I went from a stand alone to trying the sig kilo 3000 for a year and now having my glass and rf together with ballistics that are dialed, it is a no Brainer to have rf/bino and cut some of the other gear out of your pack.

My preference for archery is a monocular not binocular. It allows for one handed use much easier due to weight. The Sig stuff is the only product that has both a rifle ballistic solver and an archery cut mode for inclines to my knowledge. It has to new their new K series stuff though. Leupold and Bushnell both have archery LRFs but no rifle ballistic solvers on board. Vortex has a ballistic solver in their bino but I dont believe they do any archery specific modes on the rest of their models.
