I am in the market for some new hiking/hunting boots. On a budget and would like to stay around $100-$125. Any suggestions? Thanks guys.

Go to a backpacking/hunting/big box store. Try in a bunch even if they're out of your price range. Take some notes as to feel and fit and find something online or used.

check the Merrell line . they have some good ones close to that range that coworkers at my land surveying company like, and wear every day.

Sierra Trading Post aka STP is where to find a deal on top quality boots. Mostly closeouts. The Asolo Sassalong has a good reputation along with a bunch more there. If you are ready now I'm sending you a discount code for 35% off and .99 cent shipping that is good through midnight 4/10. Sign up for their email list and wait for the same offer to come to you.

I used STP to pick up a pair of Hanwag Banks hiking boots for $105. They're a lightweight boot but they feel and fit pretty well. European made for under $110 is a pretty good deal.

Asolo is a superior boot to Vasque IMO. If you are backpacking the Sasslong is a very capeable boot. I had a pair and had I not got great deal on a pair of Lowa Tibets I might be wearing them still today. They do run narrow.

Another nod to Sierra Trading Post. No doubt that there are other places to find deals, but they seem to offer the most consistent opportunity for the best deals.

I ended up getting the Vasque Taku. I will let you guys know how they turn out. Thanks for everyones help.

What he said. ^^^^^
I LOVE my Sassalongs. I know they probably are not on par with the Lowas, but for $125 it was a no brainer for me. I wear them all year as I work in construction. The pair I bought last summer look almost new and feel better than ever. With the fact i wear them ever day, they will be my full time work boot now. I will be looking to pick up a new pair for this fall to hunt in. That hunt - work rotation is working for me.

I did pick up my first pair of Lowas recently. They are the Hunter GTX and are insulated. (Late season only).
Every foot is different. As mentioned above, the Asolo run narrow.

Cabelas has some 6" danner pronghorns in the bargain cave, with a few sizes left, for less than that amount. Not the best boot, but it'll get the job done.
