Looking to get a soft shell pant for wearing on my walk out to the tree stand and then would layer over when I get into my stand. What would you guys recommend?

Thanks

I got the Sylo softshell pants on sale at camofire awhile back. So far, they've been great.

I've worn them from elk hunting in mid-November and goose hunting more recently and I have yet to feel uncomfortably warm or cold. The suspenders and zippered crotch vents are my favorite attributes. I wore them yesterday with a heavy base layer for goose hunting and was comfortable in single digit temperature.

If you're going to throw something on over top of them once at the stand you can really save some money. I'd check out the Kuhl Renegade, Prana Zion or anything that has some stretch and water resiliency at REI.

Take a look at the skre gear hardscrabble pants. Was told they are similar to the kuiu guide. The guide pants jumped up to $179 the skre $119

Agree with jollyroger unless you may have a use for the pants year round a mountaineering brand opens more options and can be found pretty inexpensive.

If I went with a Pant like the kuhl renegade and a merino wool base layer underneath do you think that would be warm enough for high 20's low 30's weather walking out to a deer stand?

I have a pair of Kryptek dalibors. I hunt in them pretty much all seasons. Spring gobbler to fall deer in Pa and Nc . If it's cold I'll then throw on my Kryptek kratos pants over them while I sit.
I also have the cadog pants as well. They are fleece lined but I have not used them yet or the cadog jacket.
