Well I didn’t NEED new headlamps but I did want to try these for when I’m not trying to get the lightest I can from my kit. Good opportunity to try - plus my kids are always stealing headlamps around the house so it’s good to have some extras

Looks like a 1200 lumen white only option and a 1500 lumen with red.
I’m sure battery life is the best on the 500

I haven’t tried the H35, only the H25. 500 lumens is plenty, most headlamps on the market won’t sustain 500 lumens for any real amount of time. An Acebeam H30 is one of the few that will sustain 1000 lumens. The 1200 lumen version, H25s, won’t hold 1200 lumens for more than 10 or 15 seconds before it steps down due to temperature.

Also, lumens aren’t linear. You need 4x the number of lumens to perceive 2x the brightness. So a 2000 lumen light is needed to appear twice as bright as a 500 lumen light.

An old maglite is like 30 lumens for reference.
