So the person survived a Grizzly bear attack by killing the bear, but the rest of us should do it differently. Makes sense, right?

Sorry, can't get the image of small grizz belly crawling out of my head. Been grinning all day over it. In all seriousness you have the patience of jobe.
Ha! It was quite the sight. In retrospect, probably should have just tried to loudly scare him off the first time, rather than assume he wasn't a threat and wait until he got bold enough to get within spray range. He ended up blowing all the elk out anyway when he went crashing through the brush.

As I recall the Wyoming guide that was killed a few years ago while breaking down an elk his client shot the night before didn't have his Glock 20 on him when charged but did have his bear spray and deployed it. That may be isolated incident but I wouldn't trust the spray I will keep my 10mm or .44 close at hand while bowhunting. I agree everyone that really pushes bear spray is mainly concerned with the bears life.
