I grew up three miles from the Canadian border and likely entered Canada three or four times a week (this was all pre-9/11 travel). The folks in the St. Lawrence Valley were just hardworking, down-to-earth folks I really admired and enjoyed - they were just farmers and dairymen who were separated from us in the U.S. by some imaginary line. The Canadian folks I've met in the central and western provinces are also exceptional folks. What I will say is that Canada can keep those separatist Quebecois a-holes from Montreal and let them become a stand-alone country.
