Hello All,

Does anyone have any 1st hand expiernce with their Ti Actions? I'm looking at the F-22R Model in SA

The SA comes in at 15oz and the LA 16oz. I spoke with their gunsmith who confirmed the weights and did say they DLC coat them. The weights are intriguing, but I can find much info on them.

Thank you for sharing any thoughts-

Do some reading on titanium actions. They sound great until you use them. They do not cycle as smoothly as steel. If you want ultra light look at a Kimber.

Thank you for the reply. Which ones have you used that did not cycle smoothly and were the DLC coated?

Longrangeonly.com did a whole review on that very action on their YouTube page. It had a lot of information

I saw the review about the steel version, but not the Titanium. I will have to go back through and see if I can find it. Thank you

This was true of early Ti actions. most are either DLC'd or aluminum shrouded.

buddy has a defiance Ti-X and its unlikely you could tell it from a steel action.

I have that action on a custom from Alamo precision. It’s OK but overall not worth the price. I can save weight in other places. I shaved 12 ozs off my stock by switching to a Bastion. Echelons are lighter still. Switch to a 2pm scope such as a Trijicon credo and that saved 10ozs off my maven.

Ya I mean I’m not paying that for a ti action to shave 6 oz’s.

Law of diminishing returns tbh, the bastion is a great stock as well.

I do have my eye on the F22 though as it looks damn good.

I’ve currently got a falkor LW7 with Hawkins rings that I absolutely love.
