Snake Gaiters

I live in rattle snake country and will be hunting SE New Mexico this fall.

I have always used the hard plastic snake gaiters but refuse to use them unless I am mowing or weed eating around the house.

During hunting and moving around a lot what are you guys wearing?

Ever heard of these:

Look flexible and light weight.

Water proof as well and could be used as gaiters in the late cold when snakes are not out.

I have no experience with Turtleskins, or snake gaiters for that matter, but I do have a little experience in SE New Mexico. There are LOTS of snakes in that country. I saw the biggest diamondback I've ever seen one year when it was 40 degrees, so gaiters might be a good idea, even in the late fall. good luck on your hunt. what unit did you draw? and when is your hunt?

I'll be in 31 for Mule deer so I have September and January. I live really close to the area in Texas though, so I deal with snakes all the time. My Texas ranch is infested as well even after three years of gasing them out in March.

Did you draw this year in SE NM?

I've used the TurtleSkin ones for a few seasons now here in AZ and they have held up good so far. If I remember I bought them off Cabela's. There are some reviews on there as well.

That is Aussie $ so works out about the same as the Turtle skins

After looking at the turtle skins the the mokora. I like the mokora better. Just wish I could order them over here in the USA. I am going to check on shipping over here.

Ive used the snakeskins for several seasons in mexico.
They are great fitting but make my legs sweat a little in the high heat..
I would recommend them, if that is not a problem for you.
