Wow, Vienna Sausages are still around? I used to find those cans everywhere in the woods three and four decades ago now I don’t see them very much.

I have to mix up the bars- mostly Kind and RX but like the Oberti smoked sausages and the Foil paks of chicken and flavored tuna.

I like the Rx bars breakfast bars. Better texture than their normal bars. And clean ingredients

I always love shopping for a travelling hunting trip. At home, we eat pretty clean and try to limit junk and sugar. When it's hunting trip time I go shopping and my cart looks like it's Halloween. Snickers, jerky, the candy mix bag of various chocolates, pringles, trail mix, swiss cake rolls, etc. It's always nice to get to eat whatever I want for a week and still lose weight, lol.

PB&J still pack a good punch for me. I also like a good cold cut with different kinds of meat, mayo cheese. Mix some snacks in… I also make the bacon, peanut butter, honey on tortillas occasionally.

I don’t eat heathy at all, definitely not on a hunt. Calories are just a number to this guy. One of these days it’ll catch up to me, hopefully I’ll be too old to care by then.

For my trip last month I dehydrated about thirty pounds of sweet potatoes, a bunch of apples, and made a ton of jerky. Cheap, easy, healthy.

I used the backpacking chef's sweet potato instructions. It was a really nice change from the usual bars.

I also made a brittle of pureed sweet potatoes, shaved coconut, and some maple syrup. I will definitely be making more of that.

For years, Cliff bars were all I ever brought with me, hiking, bouldering, hunting, whatever. Then suddenly I couldn't stand them anymore. So last few times have not brought anything; just stop for bad stuff like candy or other snacks on the way.

Huge fan of the perfect bars. I eat them even at home.

I think they say they're good for a week without refrigeration.
Agree, I get the 12pks from cosco, and they occasionally go on sale for less than a dollar per, and i will get a dozen boxes and keep them in the freezer

I eat them almost daily, one of my favorites for sure, the dark chocolate chip is my favorite, but like the normal PB for hunting so the chocolate chips don’t melt in warm weather

All summer on the ocean all day every day, I almost live on them… good calorie dense food and I don’t get sick of them at all. I need to look into making something similar at home, because my perfect bar bill for the year is probably pretty high.

As for not being refrigerated, I agree that a week is accurate, it used to make me nervous, but no longer, it’s fine. I do like them fresh from the fridge though 😏

I eat everything from Larabars to chocolate bars.

When I'm hiking all day everyday for days at a time, I'm not too worried about what I stuff my face with.

I always pack some some Halloween sized candy bags too for when I need a quick sugar boost!

I used to take granola bars and various protein bars but those are just so damn dry and would make me so thirsty. I've been enjoying Lara's bars and honey stingers. I'll bring some small candy bars sometimes but it's hard to limit those if I'm doing any kind of sitting for glassing etc

Larabars. Available at most grocery stores, clean ingredients (as long as you don't get the ones with chocolate chips) and can be had for an alright price. So many bars are just refined sugar and seed oil, hardly promotes athletic performance
