How do you get arrested for driving while high? What is the minimum blood thc level to be legally impaired?

Do they make you piss in a cup? Take a hair sample?

I used to smoke cigarettes in my treestand all the time. I recall many times having to put one out to pick up my bow. Granted, I was hunting “subdivision deer”, but still lol.

Scent is scent. Whether you smoke or not, you still smell like a human to a deer. Just hunt the wind and hope they don't get a wiff of you.

They have to draw blood. And if they even legally can(without a warrant) depends on the state. If there's a legal limit of active THC in the blood varies by state. There's a problem with those limits tough, as someone can have more than the limit in their blood despite having not consumed for days and being perfectly sober.

In short it's all but unenforceable to any standard that any reasonable society would be comfortable putting someone in prison for.

You must not either.
It’s legal in Illinois. Ever been to Chicago? PLENTY of drug dealers killing people over weed daily. Most “legal” dispensaries are still run in the shadows by cartels and other crime rings. You think they suddenly went straight just because the Govt decided to get their cut? Smoking weed has more negative consequences than potheads care to admit.

You must not live in a state that it was voted in. The smell, the crime, the bullies that do not give a shit about life.
Weed is worse than alcohol? How many people die from alcohol every year compared to weed? Drunk driving, addiction, health problems, violent crime. It's not even a close comparison. They say something like 80% of all violent crimes are committed under the influence of alcohol. How many rapes, and assaults would have never happened if people weren't drunk? What do the evil weed smokers do? Eat snacks?

Any time weed comes up on this forum I am blown away by the delusional responses from so many members. Most of which without a doubt are recreation consumers of alcohol, which kills 3 million people a year.

Blaming the drug is like blaming the rifle and not the person behind it.
Addictions are a bitch, doesn’t matter what forms they take.
As for the question
I had quite a few moose come right in to our calls while I was smoking a cigarette but I have never shot a rifle with a smoke hanging out of my mouth, the smoke tends to get into my eyes and I can’t see.
I quit smoking 4 years ago because I was going on a hunting trip and didn’t want to be the only smoker. We got into camp and as I am prepping dinner I look up and the other 5 people I was with were all smoking 🤣😂😅
Funny how people change habits while out in the bush

I quit smoking because it was effing killing me!
Couldn't taste good food.
Couldn't breathe!
Always stunk of cig smoke.
Yellow teeth, vile breathe, and stained mustache.
Always having to leave an activity to smoke.
Expensive as hell.
High blood pressure and other detrimental health hazards.

BZZZZT!
Wrong! But thank you for playing the game!

What you imply is that when marijuana was "legalized", MORE people began drinking alcohol! (?????)

Go back and check the DUI death stats of ANY state that legalized "recreational" marijuana!
Exponential rise in numbers of deaths!
Just because marijuana is more difficult to detect in victims after an event doesn't make it less dangerous.
I've seen WAY more lives ruined by intoxicants, both alcohol and drug, than any other.

Remember this! An obituary WILL NOT say John Doe died in a car wreck because he was stoned/drunk, killing 3 innocent people in the process!

Can you elaborate on what percentage increase in deaths there are in states that have legalized Marijuana?

@Amos Keeto can you cite your sources?

In your original post, most of your "marijuana is bad" evidence was someone died from alcohol. Somehow that does not compute.

A fellow I was acquainted with died recently. Diabetic, lifelong alcoholic, multiple limb amputations. That isn't something that happens with marijuana.

Can you point to where in this graph it shows an "exponential" rise in dui deaths?

marijuana has a lot of benefits. I would 1000 times rather pop a gummy if I am sore or need some pain killers than NSAIDs or something stronger.

I find it amusing that when you step on someone's toes, they immediately request "more information"!

"... The percent of crash deaths involving cannabis more than doubled from 9 percent in 2000 to 21.5 percent in 2018, and the percent of deaths involving cannabis and alcohol also more than doubled from 4.8 percent to 10.3 percent. ..."

Now, if you really want to get into the battle of "I found these statistics", let me also assure you that what ever you can dig up on the 'net to support your "side", there are just as many that don't support it.

It is pure and simple math!
Drunks who drive impaired kill themselves and innocents.
Druggies who drive impaired kill themselves and innocents.
Combine the two and the deaths go up exponentially!
Double the number of impaired drivers?
Double the number of fatalities!

What does recreational use of pot positively contribute to society (freedom is not an answer when others pay the price)? Leave out ANY medicinal/prescribed use or derivatives that do not impair the user. We are talking the high-dose THC pot shop pot that is everywhere now. The express purpose of pot is to alter your state of mind. It has also been shown to retard maturation of the frontal cortex and increase likelihood of schizophrenia.

And guess what, I think people should knock off the booze too - it is way out of hand.

When pot was legalized in WA, the owner of the local pot shop was murdered by a thug from Tacoma who specifically targeted him because they knew it was a cash operation. This about a mile from my house. SO much for victimless crimes...

In a world where sanity and critical thinking are needed more than ever, what blows me away is that people support the free access and acceptance drugs that will negatively impact them and others.

Remember, no man is an island...

I think what everyone is asking is to please clarify what you are saying. When you quote someone and respond to them it seems as you are talking about something unrelated to what they were talking about and it makes all of your post very hard to follow. Dont you understand I like fries?

I see pot and booze as very similar. Can be fun if you use good sense, will be destructive if you’re an addictive personality or just an overindulging idiot. Imprisoning people for drug possession is super costly and ineffective. Prohibition is ineffective and makes huge profits for gangsters.

I have to say the strength of modern weed is off the charts.
