Do you see a lot of people smoking cigs hunting? I don’t understand i hear all this “back in the day i killed a 10 point with a cigarette in my mouth” now it’s more about getting winded or what? I’m going nuts.

I hear they’re bad for ya. So is scotch. I’ve been known to indulge in both at camp, but not during the day when I’m hunting.

By “getting winded” do you mean running out of breath? Or having the scent of your stinky stogey picked up by your quarry? Cigs can certainly cause either of those things.

Back in the day, Doctors used to have ashtrays in their exam rooms.

Why are you going nuts?

I usually pack in to drop camp and stay there for 9-15 days. Opportunities for a shower or bath are sparse. Toward the end of the trip I’m pretty sure I’d be winded by game within a mile.

I have a friend that has proven if you fire up a joint a deer will show up in under a half hour. Maybe they are curious and it also covers your scent. The hard part is seeing straight to shoot it.
