So I have this old boar, about 300#......he has been on my land for 3 years now, and he mostly only moves at night. I have killed most all of the younger pigs, but he is outsmarting me so far, and he is really tearing up my food plots that I worked hard on this year, so I am on a mission now to kill him. I do not have any night vision or thermal stuff. Not interested in turning dogs out.

Any recommendations for something he will like so much that he comes out during the day? I have heard of pouring corn and diesel into a deep hole, dug with post hole diggers. Any other ideas like that?

Fermented corn might be enticing enough to draw him out. I have heard of the diesel thing but cant imagine that would actually attract pigs

If you just want him gone it's pretty easy to build a trap with hog panels and a one way gate, leave the gate open with corn in it and let them get used to going in and eating for a week or so then close the gate. They'll push it open and lots of times you can catch multiples, cut the males if you don't want to kill them all at once and mark their ears then if you kill them later you will know they're good eating. Build the trap really well because if they get out they won't hardly go back in.

I have no idea if it actually works but my predator e-caller has a pig squealing. Would be a fun way to hunt them if it would bring them in.

A hog that size probably wont fall for a trap at all. I tried for a long time to kill one large bore on my place, he would come to corn but always either stayed back while the others fled or circled down wind alone in the thick stuff and got my scent. I was hunting him with my longbow, if I were using a rifle I would have killed him. This all happened roughly 5 yrs ago one day suddenly the pig disappeared, off cameras, etc. I always wondered what happened to him but talking with a neighbor today I learned he was shot by the neighbors farm hand...
