Small engine tach????

Any recommendations on a small engine tack? Contact or non contact? Clip on boot or wrap wire around spark plug?

i put one of the wrap arounds from amazon on my honda rancher. works as far as i can tell. it also gives hours of run time which is what i was really after. also have an hour meter on my honda 3000i genny thats a wrap around.

they were way under 40$.

How does that tell hours if it is not always hooked up?

If I understand it right, it's usually off vibrations from the engine running; that being said, if it's for a dirt bike, you want to make sure it's not that kind of tach, because people have had it register running hours from the bike just moving around in the trailer/truck bed/hitch carrier.

Tiny tach. I have them on a few items. Oldest is on my boat and that one is 7 years old still going.
