Slik tripod models changing...

Just got notice that the Slik 624 and 634 models are changing to a new version here in the next month. They are getting cheaper (about $30 each) and they switched to lever locks instead of twist locks. Unfortunately they are also getting a lot heavier, the Slik 624 is going from 1.8 to 2.2lbs and the Slik 634 from 2.0 to 2.44 lbs.

I do have a very limited supply of the current models on hand if anyone was interested in those.

I'd probably prefer the lever locks, but I've never an issue with the twist locks on my 634.

I will take the lever locks any day over twist. From walking sticks to tripods.

i wouldnt mind the addition of lever locks, but not at that weight penalty. ill sit happily over here with my "old" 634

Have you guys ever had issues with you twist locks? I have the 634 and haven't had trouble and would prefer the twists over levers.l

IMHO..the twist locks have one big advantage. they dont hang up coming in/out of a hunting pack sleeve.

FEDEX tells me my tpod will get to me tomorrow.
