Sleeping Bags (Down or Synthetic)

What are you guys using for sleeping bags?

I used several different types in the past (Western Mountaineering, Marmot, Big Agnes), but have been testing out the Kifaru Slik bag for over a year now. I am surprised how well the K bags compress for being synthetic, but would like to hear what you'll have to say.

I am really curious about this topic as well. Aron I would like to hear more about how the K slick bags are working? Price wise and weight wise they seem to be a good value in comparison to the other brands you have mentioned. One question I would like to add, Do any of you use quilt bags. Like the ones from Nunatak?

During my summer scouting trips, I am using the Western Mountaineering MegaLite 30 degree down mummy bag that weighs 1 lb 8 oz. Although it works perfectly for me, if you get cold easy, I would not recommend this bag. Another downside is it also requires "very careful" handling because of its extremely thin material.

During my hunts, I am currently using the Big Agnes Zirkel 20 degree down mummy bag that weighs 2 lbs 4 oz.

Also, I just talked with Glen Eberle the other day and he informed me that Eberlestock will be coming out with sleeping bags as well. Kind of curious to see what he comes up with.

I too have the Mystic. Got cold last year lase week of Sept. Aron recommended the WM Badger bag but I'm not sure I could take the fit of the bag. Still need to get inside one. Looking at the dimensions I'm not liking what I see. I'm 6'3 and 220lbs. I don't seem to have the ability to lay still in one position all night. Room, I need room....

I picked up a kifaru base bag (slick bag that can attach the MOB) on clearence from kifaru, so far i'm impressed with the quality but have yet to test it out. I'll have more to say on it after thos up coming season.

I used a Alps mountaineering Clearwater 20 synthetic last year. I'll be going with a Kifaru slickbag this year, because of the wide/long cut versions. For under 3 lbs I can get a big bag rated to a true 20 degrees, sounds appealing!

At the moment I am running a 20 degree Sierra Designs synthetic fill. I know that I will save weight and, more likely than not, gain comfort with a down bag BUT I have had it for years now. It is one item I will be looking at upgrading this year before season.

I have a BA 0 degree down way to much for the September trips its over 3 lbs. I am seriously looking at the slick bags. I am looking at getting a couple just struggling on pulling the trigger since I have not even seen one or touched one just going off of reviews. So keep them coming, any and all input on the slick bags by people that have used them in the back country would be appreciated.

Using the the Hydrogen (Marmot). The weight is awesome but when it drops down to freezing you need some cloths on. Backup is still the Marmot Pinnacle 15f. I am still looking for a Hydrogen style weighted bag just a little warmer.
