Sleeping bag upgrade

The WM bags look awesome, that is for sure. My main reason for upgrading/changing bags is to save weight and volume in my pack. I am just not sure if the 10 or so ozs I would save is worth $400+ , don't get me wrong I have no problem spending money on good gear, just not sure if the WM is the best bang for my buck. If I didn't already have a decent bag I would have ordered an alpinlite yesterday.

It always comes down to cost/use for me. WM is worth every penny:)

I used a WM AlpineLite in CO this fall in temps down around 15 degrees. I was warm and impressed with the bag.

Western Mountaineering is top notch. I use the badger (15 degree). I have slept in single digits very comfortably.

I also like Kifaru slick bags.

I used a Marmot Helium 15 degree this year in the last week of September. It got down in the 30's and I was extremely warm. In fact I had to keep it partially unzipped to regulate the heat. For around $300 its a great deal.

I use a WM Apache. Great bag and I have slept in it when the temps dropped down into the single digits. Was comfortable when wearing a merino base layer underneath. The higher priced bag will pay for itself IMO.

Depends on what you expect...I went with Wiggys after sleeping in a wet down bag once. Raft overturned...

I would keep my ultra lamina for river trips and float hunts but was kicking around the idea of picking up a down bag for mountain hunts to shed some weight and bulk. My current bag has always kept me warm and dry but I'm an ounce counter like alot of us on here are. My current bag is 2lbs 10oz, zpacks would be like 21 ozs, pretty substantial difference there.

Western Mountaineering Alpinlite here. Best bag company out there in my opinion. Very light, warm, comfortable and the construction is top notch. The stitching details are fantastic. I have yet to lose any down out of that bag. I have gotten the bag wet a couple of times and it still kept me warm despite having the down fill. You cannot go wrong with Western Mountaineering. You get what you pay for with this company.
