I am looking to buy my first binoculars and trying to figure out if I should spend the "extra" money on the NL Pure 12x42? I've tried reading many reviews but it's still hard to know, the SLC 15x56 have a little further reach, but the NL Pure 12x42 have better clarity from what I gather.. I am not much of a hunter but have 100 acre property that I'd like to spent time glassing. Any varmint hunting would typically be under 100 yards. Appreciate the thoughts!

100 acre property that you sometimes hunt? I wouldn’t buy either of those. I would look at something like the Sig IS Binos. If you want alpha glass go with the Swaro 8x42s

I'm not really a hunter but would like a good Bino for observation of the area. I tend to go overkill on my gear and Bino's are no exception. I am leaning to the NL 12x44 for portability and ease of use but welcome all opinions!!

I'm with Otter and would want 8x. Make mine the 8x40 SFL though. And add a tripod if you don't have one.

If there's money leftover vs getting the NL, I'd get a spotting scope unless you already have one.

Love the options....keep them coming! I'll check out the 8x40 SFL as I've not considered those. I tend to like a little more magnification.
